Dr Astley Frank is a Nephrology and Hypertension fellow (senior registrar) and specialist physician at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital, Durban. Graduating cum laude with an MBChB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2012, he later earned a Master in Medicine in 2021, which investigated the correlation between kidney morphology on ultrasonography and kidney function in chronic kidney disease. That same year, he completed his fellowship in Internal Medicine (CMSA). His interests include preventative care, transplantation, immunology, and kidney replacement therapy. He is also passionate about education, contributing to both undergraduate and postgraduate internal medicine teaching and training initiatives.
